The Old Dragon And The Sea

He is enjoying his view!   ......but seems kindoff sceptic of that civilization that seems to be there on the other side.......


So some words on the making of this picture: I started this one ages ago, it must have been August or some time back then. Only worked in it sporadically, because I didn't know where I wanted to go with this pic, and also the lack of time. :/
Wanted to try out a wide format this time. The ratio is aproximatly cinema-format at 21:9, and the original has an resolution of like 5500x13000 or so, so it got quite the pain to work with....but my computer handled it. ^^
After a long time not working on it, I finally decided that it would be about time to finally finish it. I rather not have this thing still keeping me busy in 2017 xD.
I don't have too much of a clue on how to paint nice water or so, so it started relatively ruff, but then I decided to give in and try to paint each of these lines and stuff on the sea by hand.......which was quite the pain, but on the other hand I now know better on how to approach this topic in the future. 

With old works being revisioned, its always annoying to see how much junk you've done, that needs fixing afterwards xD. The picture has taken me way too long, but I didn't count the hours, because, as said before, I rather did it sporadically.
